Directions for use of Calcium acetate Nefro 500 mg Film-coated tablets: Indication: - Calcium acetate Nefro 500mg is used to lower elevated serum phosphate levels in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing dialysis treatment. Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients: - Calcium acetate: 500 mg per film-coated tablet. - Other ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K 30, crospovidone type A, magnesium stearate (vegetable), sucrose, hypromellose, macrogol 6000, talc. Contraindications: - The medicinal product must not be taken in case of increased calcium concentration in the blood (hypercalcaemia) or in case of allergy to calcium acetate or any of the other ingredients. Dosage: - Recommended dose: usually start with 2 film-coated tablets three times a day. The dose is adjusted individually and should be monitored regularly. - The maximum daily dose is 12 tablets. - The treatment requires regular medical supervision. Intake: - The film-coated tablets are taken unchewed with some liquid. - Please take only with meals. Patient information: - Before taking, please attend a nutritional consultation to ensure a healthy amount of phosphate in the diet. - Regular control of the phosphate and calcium concentration in the blood is important. - Caution is advised when taking medicines with vitamin D at the same time. - Seek medical advice if there are signs of increased calcium concentration in the blood. - Seek medical advice before taking calcium-containing medicines for stomach acidity. - In case of concomitant intake of cardioactive glycosides, carry out additional controls. - No influence on the ability to drive and operate machinery. Pregnancy: - No sufficient data on use during pregnancy and lactation. - Take as directed by a doctor and check serum calcium levels regularly.
