This medicine is a combination of vitamins and minerals.It is used to prevent and treat vitamin D and calcium deficiencies in older people.It also serves as a supplement to specific therapy in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 1498.5 mg calcium carbonate, which corresponds to 600 mg calcium ions.In addition, 4 mg of colecalciferol dry concentrate is included, which corresponds to 0.01 mg of colecalciferol or 400 international units of vitamin D3.Excipients include alpha-tocopherol, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium salt, crospovidone, various iron oxides, macrogol 4000, magnesium stearate, modified corn starch, sodium ascorbate, sodium dodecyl sulfate, polyvinyl alcohol, partially hydrolyzed, povidone K30, sucrose, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, titanium dioxide,contain medium chain triglycerides and sodium ions.

Contraindications

The film-coated tablets must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium carbonate, colecalciferol or any of the other ingredients.Also with increased calcium content in the blood, increased calcium excretion in the urine, certain previous illnesses that can lead to these conditions, kidney stones, calcium deposits in the kidneys, kidney failure, vitamin D overdose, immobilization of limbs or certain lung diseases such as sarcoidosis or Boeck's disease.

Dosage

Adults, including the elderly, should take one film-coated tablet daily, containing 600 mg of calcium and 400 international units of vitamin D3.If there is an increased risk of vitamin D deficiency, two film-coated tablets can be taken daily.No dosage adjustment is necessary in cases of liver dysfunction.If there is impaired kidney function, the drug should be used with caution.With higher doses and long-term use of vitamin D, regular checks of serum calcium levels are necessary.The medicine is not suitable for children and adolescents.

Intake

The film-coated tablet should be swallowed whole before a meal with sufficient liquid.The duration of use is determined by the doctor.If you take more than you should, stop taking it and consult your doctor immediately.Symptoms of an overdose may include loss of appetite, thirst, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, fatigue, mental disorders, increased urination, bone pain, calcium deposits in the kidneys, kidney stones and, in severe cases, cardiac arrhythmia.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.If you want to stop taking it, please talk to your doctor first.

Patient information

During long-term treatment, serum and urinary calcium levels should be monitored and renal function should be checked by measuring serum creatinine.This is particularly important in elderly patients and during simultaneous treatment with cardiac glycosides and diuretics.Patients with a strong tendency to form stones should also be monitored regularly.The drug should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment.Children and adolescents should not take the product.No effects on the ability to drive or use machines are expected.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.The medicine should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the high dosage of vitamin D.Overdoses of vitamin D must be avoided during pregnancy, as long-term elevated calcium levels in the blood can lead to physical deformities and mental retardation in the child.Calcium passes into breast milk in small amounts without having a negative effect on the child.
