Directions for use of the article Calcium Dura Vit D3 Film-Coated Tablets: Calcium-dura Vit D3 Film-Coated Tablets are a vitamin-mineral combination preparation used for the prevention and treatment of vitamin D and calcium deficiency in the elderly and to support specific therapy for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. It is important to read the package leaflet carefully and to follow the doctor's or pharmacist's instructions exactly. If you have any questions or side effects, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist. The film-coated tablets contain 600 mg calcium and 400 I.U. vitamin D3 and should be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid before a meal. Contraindications for taking the film-coated tablets are, for example, hypersensitivity to the active substances or other components of the medicinal product, increased calcium levels in the blood or increased calcium excretion in the urine. The medicine should also not be taken in the case of certain diseases such as calcium-containing kidney stones, renal insufficiency or hyperparathyroidism. During long-term treatment with the film-coated tablets, blood and urine calcium levels should be monitored and kidney function checked. Children should not take the film-coated tablets. When taking certain medicines at the same time, such as digitalis glycosides, thiazides, iron preparations or phenytoin, interactions should be taken into account. Side effects may include hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria, metabolic alkalosis, constipation, diarrhoea, skin reactions or itching. In the event of an overdose, nausea, vomiting, increased thirst, increased fluid intake, increased urine flow or constipation may also occur. Interruption or premature termination of the treatment should be discussed with the doctor beforehand. The film-coated tablets should be kept out of the reach of children and protected from light and moisture. The expiry date is stated on the container.
