Zinc emulsion BW is a wound healing agent used externally for acute and subacute skin diseases.It offers a covering, protective and wound secretion-binding effect to prevent or relieve symptoms.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in this preparation is zinc oxide.In addition, the suspension contains the following excipients: (2-ethylhexyl)dodecanoate, nonionic emulsifying alcohols, cetylstearyl alcohol, ceteareth-80, glycerol monostearate, glycerol 85% and purified water.

Area of application

The suspension is used for skin diseases where a covering, protective and wound secretion-binding effect is required.This includes acute and subacute dermatoses.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as directed.If you are unsure, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.You should not use the medicine for longer than 14 days without medical advice.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if the effect is too strong or too weak.

If you have used more of the medicine than you should and it causes symptoms, please contact your doctor.This can decide on any necessary measures if necessary.

Application

The suspension is applied to the affected skin areas once or several times a day and, if necessary, covered with gauze.The zinc oxide it contains can get stuck in the laundry and is then difficult to remove.Therefore, cover the wound area treated with the suspension with a gauze pad, plaster or bandage.

To remove old suspension residues from the skin, they are loosened with a fatty oil such as peanut or olive oil and carefully wiped off with gauze.

Particular caution is required when using this medicine if the symptoms described under indications of application become more severe.In this case, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

There is no experience with regard to impairment of the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

The medicine can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding if used as intended and following the dosage instructions.However, large area application in pregnant women and large area application to the breast in breastfeeding women should be avoided.
