Information for use of the article SELENASE 50 AP Tablets: SELENASE 50 AP is a trace element preparation and is used in cases of proven selenium deficiency that cannot be corrected by dietary means. Selenium deficiency can occur in maldigestion and malabsorption states, as well as in malnutrition and deficiency. The recommended dose is 1 tablet daily (corresponding to 50 μg selenium), taken with plenty of liquid at the main meal. The duration of treatment is determined by the attending physician. No side effects can be observed. SELENASE 50 AP tablets contain 0.167 mg sodium selenite pentahydrate (corresponding to 50 μg selenium) and gelatine, magnesium stearate, maize starch, sucrose and talc as other ingredients. The medicinal product must not be taken in case of allergy to sodium selenite pentahydrate or other ingredients and in case of selenium poisoning. There are no restrictions on the use of SELENASE 50 APduring pregnancy and lactation. It is important to note that SELENASE 50 AP must be stored away from heat and that the medicine contains sucrose, so caution should be exercised if you are intolerant to sucrose.
