Saline solution 0.9% B.Braun SPÜLLÖSUNG Ecolav

The saline solution 0.9% B.Braun SPÜLLÖSUNG Ecolav is used for irrigation and cleaning during surgical procedures.It is also suitable for rinsing wounds or burns and for moistening wound temporaries, cloths and bandages.In addition, it can be used for rinsing and cleaning urinary catheters, for ostomy care, for rinsing and cleaning instruments and accessories as well as for intra- and postoperative rinsing during endoscopic procedures without HF-electricity and after TUR-procedures.The solution is also suitable for filling breathing air humidification devices, for mechanical eye rinsing and for nasal rinsing.

Application

The amount of liquid depends on the respective situation.In the event of an overdose during wound irrigation and intraoperative use, absorption of irrigation fluid can occur, which can lead to hypervolemia in the sense of hypotonic hyperhydration (hyponatremia).Symptoms of hyperhydration include headaches, nausea, restlessness and disorientation.In severe cases, coma-like conditions can occur.

In the event of an overdose, rinsing should be stopped and the water and electrolyte balance corrected according to the respective clinical situation.

Notes

The solution is not suitable for infusion or injection.It may only be used for rinsing and washing.The solution should only be used if the closure is unbroken and the solution appears clear.Opened containers must not be stored; remaining quantities must be discarded.Reuse of single-use devices poses a potential risk to the patient or user. It may result in contamination and/or impairment of functionality.Contamination and/or reduced functionality of the device may result in patient injury, illness or death.The solution should be kept out of the reach of children.

If there is a risk of absorbing larger amounts of solution, as may be the case when used in large body cavities or on large wounds, the solution should not be used in patients in a state of hyperhydration.Caution is advised in hypertonic dehydration, hypokalemia, hypernatremia, hyperchloremia and conditions in which restricted sodium intake is indicated, such as heart failure, generalized edema, pulmonary edema, hypertension, eclampsia and severe renal insufficiency.The solution must not be used for intrathecal irrigation procedures.

Ingredients

Active ingredients: Each 10,000 ml solution contains 9.00 g of sodium chloride in Aqua ad iniectabilia.Electrolytes: mmol/l Na+ 154, Cl- 154.

Excipients: Water for injections.
