SNUP® Cold spray 0.05% - Effective and gentle help for colds

SNUP® Cold spray is a decongestant nasal spray that is used for allergies and colds.It moisturizes the nose with natural sea water and is free of irritating preservatives.The product is available in two versions: SNUP® 0.05% for children aged 2-6 years and SNUP® 0.1% for adults and children aged 6 and over.

Area of application

A stuffy nose caused by colds or allergies can become a burden. SNUP® Cold spray helps you to quickly breathe freely again.It combines decongestant xylometazoline with natural sea water.Xylometazoline quickly reduces swelling in the nasal mucosa, while sea water moisturizes, nourishes and cleanses the nose, further promoting the nose's natural defense mechanism.

SNUP® Cold spray 0.05% solution for children contains the active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride.One milliliter of the nasal spray contains 0.5 milligrams of xylometazoline hydrochloride.One spray, which contains approximately 0.09 milliliters of solution, contains 0.045 milligrams of the active ingredient.Other ingredients include potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sea water and purified water.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to xylometazoline or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.Its use is also not permitted in a certain form of chronic cold, after surgical removal of the pineal gland through the nose or other surgical procedures that expose the meninges, as well as in infants and small children under 2 years of age.

Dosage

For hygiene reasons, a nasal spray should only be used by one person at a time.Before using for the first time, a few pumps should be carried out into the air until an even spray is created.For all other applications, the SNUP® cold spray is ready to use immediately.If the nasal spray has not been used for more than 3 days, this process should be repeated.To use, insert the nasal adapter into the nostril, activate the spray mechanism once and inhale gently through the nose.Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the spray can be used up to 3 times a day.

Intake

The spray port should be inserted into the nostril and pumped once, inhaling gently through the nose during the spraying process.It is recommended to blow your nose thoroughly before using the product.The last application of each treatment day should preferably be before going to bed.For hygiene reasons and to avoid the transmission of pathogens, each spray should only be used by one and the same person.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using the medicine if you are being treated with certain mood-altering medicines or other medicines that potentially increase blood pressure.The medicine should also be used with caution in cases of increased intraocular pressure, severe cardiovascular diseases, a tumor of the adrenal gland, metabolic disorders such as hyperthyroidism or diabetes, an enlarged prostate or the metabolic disease porphyria.The long-term use of mucosal decongestant cold medicines can lead to chronic swelling and ultimately loss of the nasal mucosa.When used as intended, no impairment of the ability to drive or operate machines is expected.

Pregnancy

Since the safety of using the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been sufficiently proven, you may only use the product on the advice of your doctor and only after he or she has carefully weighed up the benefits and risks.The recommended dosage must not be exceeded during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as an overdose can affect the blood supply to the unborn child or reduce milk production.
