The directions for use for Hepagallin N Coated Tablets state that this product is used for digestive disorders, especially functional disorders of the draining bile system. It contains a dry extract of artichoke leaves that stimulates the flow of bile and thus supports the digestion of fats. The recommended dosage for adults and children over 12 years of age is two coated tablets three times a day, to be taken after meals, with sufficient liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water). The product should not be used if hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients is known. In case of prolonged or regularly recurring complaints, a doctor should be consulted. The product should be stored away from heat and should not be used for longer than 60 days after opening. The package leaflet should be read thoroughly before use.
