Instructions for use for Tebonin forte 40mg (30 pieces)
Area of application
The medicine is a herbal preparation to promote blood circulation and contains an extract of ginkgo leaves. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders as part of an overall therapeutic concept for dementia syndromes. The main complaints include memory problems, difficulty concentrating, depressed mood, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches.
The drug is primarily aimed at patients with dementia syndrome in primary degenerative dementia, vascular dementia and mixed forms of both. Before treatment is started, it should be clarified whether the symptoms are not due to an underlying disease that requires specific treatment.
In addition, the drug is used to extend the pain-free walking distance in peripheral arterial disease in stage II to FONTAINE (intermittent claudication, "intermittent claudication") as part of physical therapeutic measures, in particular walking training. It can also be used for dizziness and ringing in the ears of vascular and involutive origin (as a result of circulatory disorders or age-related regression processes).
No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
The medicine contains ginkgo leaf dry extract (35-67:1), extractant: acetone 60% (m/m).The active ingredients include 9.6 mg ginkgo flavonoid glycosides, 0.2 µg ginkgolic acids, ginkgolides A+B+C, bilobalides and 2.4 mg terpene lactones. The excipients include cellulose, microcrystalline, croscarmellose, sodium salt, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x-water, hypromellose, lactose 1-water, macrogol 1500, magnesium stearate, corn starch, silicon dioxide, highly disperse, simeticon-alpha-hydro-omega-octadecyloxypoly (oxyethylene)-5-(E,E)Hexa-2,4-dienoic acid water, talc and titanium dioxide.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active medicinal ingredient or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
Dosage
Always take the medicine exactly as directed. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders is 1 - 2 tablets 3 times a day.To extend pain-free walking distance in cases of peripheral arterial disease and dizziness and ringing in the ears of vascular and involutive origin, the usual dose is 1½ - 2 tablets twice daily.
In the case of performance disorders caused by organic brain disorders, the duration of treatment should be at least 8 weeks. After a treatment period of 3 months, the doctor must check whether continued treatment is still justified. In the case of arterial occlusive disease in the limbs, an improvement in walking distance requires a treatment period of at least 6 weeks. In the case of dizziness, use over a period longer than 6 to 8 weeks does not improve the treatment result. If you have ringing in the ears, supportive treatment should last for at least 12 weeks. If there is no success after 6 months, this can no longer be expected even with longer treatment.
If you take more medicine than you should, please notify a doctor.Next time, do not take a double dose if you forget to take it, but continue taking it as prescribed by your doctor or as described here.
If you have any further questions about using the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacy.
Intake
The medicine is intended to be taken orally and should not be taken while lying down. Please take the medicine whole with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water). It is used when taken 3 times a day in the morning, at midday and in the evening, and when taken 2 times a day in the morning and evening. It can be taken regardless of meals. To divide, place the tablet on a firm surface with the score line facing up and cut it in half by applying light pressure with your thumb.
Patient information
Particular caution is required when taking the drug if there is a pathologically increased tendency to bleeding or if you are being treated with anticoagulant drugs at the same time.Since preparations containing ginkgo can increase the risk of bleeding, this medicine must be discontinued before surgery. Please inform your doctor in good time, who will decide how to proceed. There are insufficient studies on the use of this medicine in children under 12 years of age, so it should not be used in this age group.
No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.
Pregnancy
Before taking/using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.Experimental studies showed no evidence of a teratogenic effect of the ginkgo extract contained in this medicine. However, since there is no experience in humans and its use during pregnancy is not justified, the benefits of treatment during pregnancy must be carefully weighed against the possible risks. It is not known whether the ingredients of ginkgo extract pass into breast milk.
Notes
For information about risks and side effects, read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacy.
Other
If the memory problems, concentration problems or headaches persist for longer than 3 months despite using the medication as directed, a doctor should be consulted, as these may be illnesses that require medical clarification.Sad moods or frequent dizziness and ringing in the ears generally require clarification by a doctor. If hearing impairment or hearing loss suddenly occurs, you should consult a doctor immediately. If skin hypersensitivity reactions occur or if you have persistent headaches or gastrointestinal complaints, you should consult a doctor so that he or she can clarify whether there is a connection with the use of ginkgo extract or whether the symptoms are due to another cause. The individual response to medication cannot be predicted.
