Summary: The paste "Pasta Zinci oxidati mollis SR" contains zinc oxide and is used for the treatment of skin diseases. It has a covering-protective and secretion-binding effect. The paste should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to zinc, wool wax alcohols, peanut or soya. During pregnancy and lactation, the paste may be used in accordance with the dosage instructions, but large-scale application should be avoided. Precautions should be observed during use, such as avoiding large-scale application to more than 20 per cent of the body surface and contact with the eyes or mucous membranes. Application to highly inflamed skin areas may cause a slight burning sensation. Skin reddening may occasionally occur during application, especially in cases of hypersensitivity to wool wax alcohols. Peanut oil may rarely cause severe allergic reactions. The package leaflet contains further information on dosage, duration of use and possible side effects.
