Iodide Ratiopharm 100 µg tablets are used for the prevention and treatment of thyroid disorders. They are used to prevent iodine deficiency, to prevent the re-growth of goitre after surgery or drug treatment and to treat goitre in newborns, children, adolescents and younger adults. The dosage depends on age and indication. The tablets are taken after a meal with sufficient liquid. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the tablets should only be taken after consulting a doctor. Side effects are rare and may include hypersensitivity reactions, hyperthyroidism and skin reactions. An overdose can cause various symptoms and requires medical treatment. The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date. It contains lactose and should be taken with caution in persons with known intolerance to certain sugars.
