The lactic acid bacteria contained in Lacteol capsules are part of the natural intestinal flora.These bacteria, especially Lactobacillus fermentum and Lactobacillus delbrueckii, form a protective film on the intestinal mucosa and occupy receptors to which pathogens can attach.This prevents the adhesion of diarrheal pathogens and regenerates the intestinal flora.The lactic acid bacteria also activate the immune system and thus help fight diarrhea.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Lacteol capsules is freeze-dried lactic acid bacteria (lyophilisate), inactivated in their culture medium.One hard capsule contains 340 mg of freeze-dried lactic acid bacteria, equivalent to 10x109 Lactobacillus.The other ingredients are calcium carbonate (E 170), silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, anhydrous lactose, talc, magnesium stearate.The capsule shell consists of gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171) and water.

Contraindications

Lacteol capsules must not be taken if you are allergic to freeze-dried lactic acid bacteria or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Dosage

Always take Lacteol capsules exactly as described in the package leaflet or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for adults and children is 1 hard capsule twice daily.For acute diarrhea, 1 hard capsule is taken 3 times on the first day, then 1 hard capsule 2 times daily.It can be taken with or without meals.After the symptoms have subsided, treatment should be continued for another 2 days.If the symptoms do not subside, you should see a doctor by the third day at the latest.

Storage instructions
