Area of application

The vitamin preparation is used to treat vitamin E deficiency.However, it is not suitable for cases where the absorption of vitamin E from the intestine is impaired.In such situations, injection solutions are the better choice.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each soft capsule contains 600 IE RRR-alpha-tocopherol, which corresponds to 402.68 mg RRR-alpha-tocopherol equivalent.In addition, the preparation contains the excipients gelatin, glycerol 85%, soybean oil and sorbitol solution 70%, crystallizing.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to vitamin E or any of the other ingredients.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.If you are unsure, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.The usual dose for adults is 1 to 2 soft capsules daily, corresponding to 400 to 800 mg RRR-alpha-tocopherol.

If you have taken a larger amount than intended, there are no known dangerous symptoms.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose but continue with your regular dosage.

Please take the soft capsules whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water.

Patient information

Particular caution is required if you are also taking medicines to inhibit blood clotting or if you have a vitamin K deficiency.In such cases, you should have blood clotting monitored carefully and consult your doctor.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Always ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medication.During pregnancy you should consume 13 mg of vitamin E daily.Vitamin E crosses the placenta and no harm to the unborn child has been observed, even at higher doses.

If you are breastfeeding, you should consume 17 mg of vitamin E daily, as vitamin E is excreted in breast milk.

Notes

The effect of vitamin E can be reduced by taking iron supplements at the same time.Therefore, keep an interval of 4 hours between taking vitamin E and iron supplements.

Other

The medicine contains sorbitol.Please only take this medicine after consulting your doctor if you know that you have an intolerance to certain sugars.
