Description of the preparation

This ointment has a softening effect on the cornea and is used to exfoliate horny cells.It is particularly suitable for psoriasis of the hairy head and dandruff.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The ointment contains 30 mg salicylic acid as an active ingredient.The following excipients are also included: cetostearyl alcohol (emulsifying, type A), macrogol 1500, macrogol 300, PEG (30-50) castor oil, lard and white petroleum jelly.

Contraindications

The preparation must not be used if you are hypersensitive or allergic to salicylic acid or any of the other ingredients.In addition, the ointment must not be used on infants.

Dosage and application

Always use the product exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The usual dose is applied to the affected scalp once daily.Adults may use a maximum of 2 g salicylic acid (approx. 67 g ointment) per day, children a maximum of 0.2 g salicylic acid (approx. 7 g ointment).

To use it, part your hair in different places, apply the product to the scalp and rub it in.Adults prefer to leave the ointment on overnight for 8 to 12 hours before washing it off with a mild shampoo.For children, the exposure time may be shorter, 2 to 6 hours depending on age.The maximum daily dose must not be used for longer than one week.

If you use more than intended, local skin irritation may occur.In this case, stop using the product and remove it.If you forget to use it, do so as soon as possible and stick to your application schedule.Do not stop the application yourself, as this could jeopardize the success of the treatment.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine.Particular caution is required if you suffer from impaired kidney function.In this case, the preparation should only be used on small areas and not for longer than three days.Do not allow the preparation to come into contact with mucous membranes and avoid contact with the eyes.In skin diseases with redness and inflammation, the skin's permeability to salicylic acid may be increased.Do not bring the product into contact with paint or plastic as these can become dull.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.The product should not be used during pregnancy.During breastfeeding, you should avoid contact of your treated head with the infant to prevent accidental ingestion of salicylic acid.
