Biatain Ibu non-adhesive is a soft and flexible foam dressing containing ibuprofen.This bandage features a unique 3D foam structure that allows excellent absorption.Upon contact with wound exudate, the structure bulges and adapts to the wound base, even under compression.The flattened edges of the bandage reduce the risk of pressure points, which increases comfort.

A special feature of Biatain Ibu is the combination of the properties of a foam dressing with the local release of ibuprofen.If wound exudate is present, a small dose of ibuprofen is continuously delivered into the wound base over the entire period of time the dressing is worn, which can be up to 7 days.This helps wound healing to be less painful.Comparative studies have shown that patients treated with Biatain Ibu experienced a reduction in wound pain compared to dressings without ibuprofen.

Mode of action

Ibuprofen is released when the foam comes into contact with wound exudate.This release occurs continuously and supports pain relief during the healing process.

Composition

Biatain Ibu consists of an absorbent polyurethane foam that contains 0.5 mg/cm2 of ibuprofen in a homogeneously distributed manner.This composition allows effective absorption of wound exudate and uniform release of the active ingredient.

Usage

Biatain Ibu non-adherent is indicated for a wide range of mild to heavily exuding wounds.These include acute wounds such as second-degree burns, split-thickness skin donor sites, postoperative wounds and skin abrasions.The bandage can also be used for chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure sores and non-infected diabetic foot syndrome.Biatain Ibu is also suitable for use under compression therapy.
