Vliwaktiv Ag is an activated charcoal absorbent dressing and tamponade impregnated with silver.This product combines the odor-binding properties of activated charcoal with the antimicrobial action of silver.It is particularly suitable for the management of critically colonized wounds, infected and/or malodorous wounds, and wounds at increased risk of infection.

Product composition

The activated charcoal fiber is impregnated with silver and consists of polyester and polyethylene.Additionally, the absorbent dressing contains polypropylene, cellulose pulp, and hot-melt adhesive made of synthetic polymers, resins, and waxes.

Versions

Vliwaktiv Ag is available in two versions: as an absorbent dressing and as a tamponade.

Areas of application

The product is used for critically colonized or infected and/or malodorous wounds.It is also suitable for wounds at increased risk of infection.The absorbent dressing is suitable for heavily exuding superficial wounds, while the tamponade is used for packing deeper wounds and as a wound dressing for superficial wounds.

Properties

Vliwaktiv Ag binds wound odors and wound exudate.Thanks to its silver content, it exerts an antimicrobial effect within the wound dressing and binds endotoxins.

Notes

Please do not cut the product, as activated charcoal particles could enter the wound.
