Vliwaktiv Ag is a special activated carbon absorbent compress or tamponade that is impregnated with silver.This product combines the odor-controlling properties of activated carbon with the antimicrobial effects of silver.It is particularly suitable for the care of critically colonized wounds, infected and/or foul-smelling wounds and wounds with an increased risk of infection.No prescription is required for this product.

Product composition

Vliwaktiv Ag consists of activated carbon fibers impregnated with silver, as well as polyester and polyethylene.In addition, the absorbent compress contains polypropylene, cellulose and hot melt adhesive, which consists of synthetic polymers with resins and waxes.

Vliwaktiv Ag is available in two versions: as a suction compress and as a tamponade.

Areas of application

Vliwaktiv Ag is suitable for different types of wounds.The absorbent compress is ideal for heavily exuding superficial wounds, while the tamponade can be used to pack deeper wounds and as a wound dressing for superficial wounds.Overall, the product is suitable for critically colonized or infected and/or foul-smelling wounds as well as for wounds with an increased risk of infection.

Properties

Vliwaktiv Ag binds wound odors and wound exudate.Due to the silver content, it has an antimicrobial effect in the wound dressing and also binds endotoxins.

Notes

Please do not cut it as activated carbon particles could get into the wound.
