The gauze bandages are non-sterile and have a size of 6 cm x 4 m. They are made of white, 20-thread gauze according to VM 20 DIN 14079 BW and are 100% cotton. They offer no stretch, are light, very skin-friendly, soft, air-permeable, weave-edged and absorbent. They are suitable for securing wound dressings, for connecting and immobilising injured or diseased limbs, as a carrier for plaster and zinc glue and occasionally as a medication carrier for external use. Before contact with open wounds, gauze dressings must be sterilised using a validated procedure.
