Lederlind Mouth Gel, 100,000 I.U./g, is an antimycotic for the treatment of fungal infections in the oral cavity. It contains the active ingredient nystatin and is used for infections of the oral cavity and pharynx caused by yeast fungi that have been proven to be sensitive to nystatin. The gel is spread throughout the oral cavity with a cotton swab after meals and can also be applied to dentures and braces. The recommended dose is 0.5-1 g gel in newborns and infants and 1 g gel in children 2 years and older and adults, 4 times daily. Treatment should be continued for at least 2 days after the symptoms have subsided, but should not exceed 28 days. Side effects are rare and use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible.
