Calcium Sandoz Forte 500 mg Effervescent Tablets are a mineral preparation used to prevent and treat calcium deficiency and to support specific therapy for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis (bone loss). It contains calcium (as calcium D-gluconate calcium lactate and calcium carbonate) as the active ingredient. The recommended dosage for adults is 1 effervescent tablet 1-3 times a day, while children should take 1 effervescent tablet 1-2 times a day depending on their age. The effervescent tablet should be dissolved in water and drunk immediately. The duration of use is determined by the doctor. There are some warnings and precautions to be observed. People who are allergic to the active substance or other components of the medicine should not take it. People with increased calcium levels in the blood, increased calcium excretion in the urine or certain kidney disorders should also refrain from taking it. If you have kidney disease or are taking certain other medicines, you should consult your doctor. Possible side effects are rare and may include hypersensitivity reactions, nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and vomiting. In case of overdose, increased calcium levels in the blood may occur.
