Wound healing for corneal injuries

Corneregel® EDO® supports the healing of injuries to the cornea and conjunctiva with the proven active ingredient dexpanthenol and promotes the regeneration of the cornea for an accelerated healing process.The eye gel is suitable for the treatment of non-inflammatory corneal diseases, such as injuries caused by contact lenses or the rubbing of foreign bodies on the cornea.It also helps heal corneal and conjunctival damage, chemical burns and burns.

Fast regeneration: The active ingredient dexpanthenol has been used successfully for many years to treat injuries and damage to the skin and mucous membranes.In the cells, dexpanthenol is converted into the body's own provitamin B5 and can accelerate the natural healing process and rapid regeneration of the injured cornea.Due to its good tolerability, dexpanthenol is also suitable for long-term use.

Work: During manual work at work or as a hobby, foreign bodies in the eye can cause injuries or contact with acids can cause chemical burns.Corneregel® EDO® can be used as additional medication to support and accelerate the healing process.

Leisure: Injuries to the cornea can easily occur during sporting activities in nature or when children are playing.Corneregel® EDO® can additionally support the relief of symptoms.

Contact lenses: If contact lenses are used improperly or worn for too long, this can lead to corneal erosions with irritated and painful eyes or a foreign body sensation.

Application

Separate a one-dose ophtiol from the bar and hold it by the label side.Tap the ophtiol down with your hand a few times until there are no air bubbles in the neck of the ophtiol.Then carefully unscrew the cap.Tilt your head back and use the index finger of one hand to pull the lower eyelid down.With your other hand, hold the ophtiol vertically over the eye without touching it and drip a drop into the pulled-down conjunctival sac.Slowly close your eye and move it back and forth to spread the gel well.The contents of a one-dose ophtiol are sufficient for use in both eyes.

Contact lenses should be removed before using Corneregel® EDO® and only reinserted after 15 minutes.Corneregel® EDO® can temporarily impair visual performance and the ability to react due to the formation of streaks.You should therefore not drive, operate machines or work without a secure footing during this time.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: 0.6 ml solution (corresponds to 1 pipette) contains 30 mg dexpanthenol.Other ingredients: carbomer (viscosity 40,000 - 60,000 mPa•s), sodium hydroxide, water for injections.

Area of application

Corneregel® EDO® is suitable for the treatment of non-inflammatory corneal diseases of the eye, such as corneal dystrophies, corneal degenerations, recurrent corneal erosions and corneal lesions in contact lens wearers.It also supports the healing process of corneal and conjunctival damage, chemical burns and burns.No prescription is required for this product.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to individual ingredients, Corneregel® EDO® should not be used.

Dosage

Tilt your head back and pull your lower eyelid down with the index finger of one hand.With your other hand, hold the tube vertically over the eye without touching it and drip a drop into the pulled-down conjunctival sac.Slowly close your eye and move it back and forth to spread the gel well.The contents of a one-dose ophtiol are sufficient for use in both eyes.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using Corneregel® EDO® if you wear contact lenses.Do not use the preparation while wearing the lenses, as this could lead to smearing of the contact lens and incompatibilities with the lens material.

Since Corneregel® EDO® has a short-term effect on visual performance and therefore the ability to react due to the formation of streaks, even when used as intended, you should not take part in traffic during this time, do not work without a secure footing and do not operate machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine. Since it is not known how much dexpanthenol is absorbed into the bloodstream after local application to the eye, when using Corneregel® EDO® during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the benefits of use should be carefully weighed against any possible risk.

You should name or show both your ophthalmologist and your family doctor all of the medications you are taking or using locally on your eyes.

Notes

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.

Corneregel® EDO® does not contain any preservatives.Opened single-dose containers must therefore not be stored.The remaining amount in the single-dose container after use must be discarded.

Do not store Corneregel® EDO® above 25 °C and away from light!
