The preparation is used externally and is used for local treatment. The active ingredient etofenamate is one of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs that do not require cortisone. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and relieves pain.It is used to support the treatment of pain in acute strains, sprains or bruises in the extremities caused by blunt force trauma, such as those that can occur in sports injuries, as well as pain in the soft tissues near the joints, such as bursa, tendons, ligaments and joint capsules in osteoarthritis of the knee joint.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
100 mg etofenamate, alpha-[Hexadecyl,(Z)-octadec-9-en-1-yl]-w-hydroxypoly(oxyethylene)-8, carbomer 50000, isopropyl alcohol, macrogol 400, sodium hydroxide, 30 mg propylene glycol, purified water.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to etofenamate, flufenamic acid or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. It should also not be used after previous use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or acetylsalicylic acid that have caused allergic reactions such as asthma, shortness of breath, runny nose, swelling or hives. It must not be used on open injuries, inflammations or infections of the skin as well as on eczema, on eyes, lips or mucous membranes, in the last trimester of pregnancy and in children and adolescents.
Dosage
Always use the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose is an approximately 10 cm long strand of gel three times a day, which is applied thinly to the affected areas of the body and rubbed in lightly. This equates to approximately 3.3g per application. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor. For blunt injuries, one week of use is usually sufficient. For rheumatic diseases, a treatment period of 3 to 4 weeks is usually sufficient. If you think the effect is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
If you have used more than you should, you should remove the gel and wash it off with water. If you use significantly too large quantities or accidentally take the product, you should notify your doctor.
Intake
The medicine is only intended for use on the skin and must not be taken. Before applying a bandage, the gel should dry on the skin for a few minutes. The use of an occlusive dressing is not recommended.Hands should be washed after applying the product, unless these are the areas to be treated.
