Summary: Traumon Gel 10% is a medicine for the external treatment of pain in sports injuries such as strains, sprains and bruises, as well as osteoarthritis of the knee joint. The active ingredient etofenamate has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. The gel should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas and rubbed in. A duration of application of 1 week for sports injuries and 3-4 weeks for rheumatic complaints is recommended. Side effects may include skin reactions such as redness, itching, burning or rash. The gel must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, open skin injuries, inflammations or eczema, in the last trimester of pregnancy and in children and adolescents. A doctor should be consulted before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Interactions with other medicines are not known so far. The gel is available without prescription and can be used in household quantities. However, it should be avoided to exceed certain maximum amounts.
