Iron deficiency is one of the most common mineral deficiency problems worldwide.Iron is essential for the formation of erythrocytes and plays a crucial role in the storage and transport of oxygen.Rulofer® N film-coated tablets are used to treat iron deficiency conditions.

Active ingredients and ingredients

One film-coated tablet contains 152.240-163.700 mg ferrous fumarate, which corresponds to 50 mg ferrous ions.It also contains the following excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone K25, sodium dodecyl sulfate, macrogol 6000, talc, silicone oil emulsion E2 (dimeticon 350, polysorbate 80, sorbic acid), hypromellose, macrogol 4000, butyl methacrylate (2-dimethylaminoethyl) methacrylate-methyl methacrylate copolymer(1:2:1), titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxides and hydroxides (E172).

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient ferrous fumarate or any of the other ingredients.The medicine should also not be used in cases of anemia caused by infections or cancer, unless there is also an iron deficiency, as well as in the case of an accumulation of iron in the blood or iron utilization disorders.

Dosage

Always take the film-coated tablets exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Unless the doctor has prescribed otherwise, the usual dose is: Children aged 12 and over take 1 film-coated tablet 1 to 2 times a day and adults 2 to 4 times a day.If necessary, adults can take 2 film-coated tablets 3 to 4 times a day at the start of therapy, depending on the Hb value.

The amount of iron to be supplied to the body and the duration of use depend on the stage of iron deficiency.Please ask your doctor about this.

If you take more than you should, tell your doctor.If you forget to take a dose, do not make up for it by doubling the number of film-coated tablets, but continue taking it as originally planned.If you want to stop taking it, contact your doctor or pharmacist first.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be taken whole in the morning on an empty stomach or 1 hour before meals with sufficient liquid to prevent possible damage to the mucous membrane caused by stuck tablets.

Patient information

Take special care when taking it if you suffer from inflammation or ulcers of the gastrointestinal mucosa.Talk to your doctor before taking.Even if you are also taking dietary or other iron salt supplements, you should speak to your doctor before taking them to avoid the risk of a possible iron overdose.

There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no known restrictions on use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
