EBENOL® 0.5% Cream

EBENOL® 0.5% Cream is an anti-inflammatory cream that is used for moderate inflammatory skin diseases such as neurodermatitis, psoriasis and eczema.The cream is suitable for adults and children over the age of 6 and can be used for a short time, up to a maximum of two weeks.

Mode of action

The active ingredient in EBENOL® 0.5% cream is hydrocortisone, a natural hormone with anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties.Hydrocortisone relieves symptoms of irritated skin such as redness, swelling and itching.The cream is easy to spread, absorbs quickly and is fragrance-free.It is particularly suitable for dry skin.

Active ingredients and ingredients

EBENOL® 0.5% Cream contains 0.5% hydrocortisone as an active ingredient.The other ingredients include glycerol 85%, oleyl oleate, emulsifying cetostearyl alcohol, medium chain triglycerides, (RS)-2-octyldodecan-1-ol, glycerol monostearate, dimeticon 350, potassium sorbate and carbomer 980.

Area of application

EBENOL® 0.5% Cream is used for moderate inflammatory skin diseases such as neurodermatitis, psoriasis and eczema.The cream can be used briefly, for a maximum of two weeks, for external use in adults and children aged 6 and over.

Contraindications

EBENOL® 0.5% Cream must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, in children under 6 years, or in specific skin diseases such as syphilis or tuberculosis.The cream should also not be used for viral infections such as chickenpox, herpes simplex or herpes zoster, vaccination reactions, fungal infections, bacterial skin infections, acne vulgaris, steroid acne, skin inflammation near the mouth (perioral dermatitis), inflammatory redness of the face (rosacea) and if you are allergic to hydrocortisone.

Dosage

EBENOL® 0.5% Cream should be applied to the affected skin areas 1-2 times a day.The application should last a maximum of two weeks.No prescription is required for this product.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using on the facial area to avoid skin changes.Large area application (more than 20% of the body surface) should be avoided.For children over 6 years of age, treatment should be carried out on a small area (less than 10% of the body surface) and with restraint.If the cream is used in the genital or anal area and latex products at the same time, the functionality of these products may be reduced and the safety of these products may be impaired.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

The cream must not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy.In later stages of pregnancy, use should only be carried out after careful benefit-risk assessment.Large-area, long-term applications or applications under occlusive dressings should be avoided.During breastfeeding, breastfeeding should be discontinued if the preparation is used over large areas or for a long time, as hydrocortisone passes into breast milk.Contact of the infant with the treated areas of skin should be avoided.
