This preparation is used to cleanse the intestines before diagnostic examinations, which can only be carried out sensibly if the intestines are well cleansed.These include, for example, a colonoscopy or an X-ray examination.It is a powder that tastes and smells like lemons.Each sachet contains a mixture of two different laxatives, which, after dissolving in water, is drunk and thoroughly empties and cleanses the intestines.A completely emptied and cleansed intestine is necessary so that the doctor or surgeon has a clear view of the intestinal lining.The product is suitable for adults aged 18 and over.

The active ingredients in this preparation are 10.97 g of citric acid (anhydrous), 3.5 g of magnesium oxide (light), 2.11 g of magnesium ion and 10 mg of sodium picosulfate.The excipients include potassium hydrogen carbonate, saccharin sodium, lemon flavor, maltodextrin and RRR-alpha-tocopherol.One sachet contains 5 mmol (195 mg) potassium and 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to sodium picosulfate, magnesium oxide, citric acid or any of the other ingredients.The preparation should also not be used in cases of congestive heart failure, retention of gastric contents, gastric or duodenal ulcer, intestinal obstruction, toxic colitis, toxic megacolon, nausea or vomiting, severe thirst, ascites, recent abdominal surgery, possible intestinal perforation or obstruction, active inflammatory bowel disease, rhabdomyolysis, severe renal impairment or hypermagnesemia.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.After taking it, frequent, thin stools are to be expected, which is normal and a sign of the effect of the drug.It is advisable to stay near a toilet until the laxative effect wears off.Follow a fiber-free diet the day before the examination and do not eat any solid food after taking the product for the first time until the examination is completed.Do not exceed the prescribed dose in 24 hours unless your doctor specifically recommends it.

The treatment can be carried out in different ways.You should have received two sachets, each containing a dose intended for adults.The time interval between taking the two sachets should be at least 5 hours.

Intake

Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a glass of water and drink the solution immediately after preparation.Then drink about 1.5 to 2 liters of various clear liquids, divided into smaller portions of about 250 ml to 400 ml per hour.Clear soups and electrolyte solutions are recommended to avoid dehydration.After taking the second sachet, drink another 1.5 to 2 liters of liquid.Do not eat or drink anything for at least 2 hours before the examination, or follow your doctor's instructions.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the product if you have recently had intestinal surgery, have impaired kidney or heart function, suffer from a water and/or electrolyte imbalance, have epilepsy, suffer from low blood pressure, feel thirsty, are elderly or physically weak, or have ever had too little sodium or potassium in your blood.After taking the medicine, you should drink plenty of clear liquids to replenish the loss of fluids and salts and avoid dehydration.Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel tired or dizzy after taking it.
