Tantum Verde® with mint flavor 3 mg lozenges are an over-the-counter medicine for the symptomatic treatment of pain and irritation in the mouth and throat.The active ingredient benzydamine hydrochloride has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.The lozenges are effective against pain and irritation in the mouth and throat that can occur in connection with various complaints, such as:

Sore throat as a result of a viral cold, slight scratching and burning in the throat, irritation in the oral cavity from hot foods, drinks or hard food ingredients, difficulty swallowing, inflammation of the mucous membranes with painful blisters (stomatitis aphthosa), inflammation of the gums, periodontitis and oral mucositis (inflammation in the mouth).

Tantum Verde® lozenges are used in adults and children over 6 years of age for the symptomatic local treatment of pain and irritation in the mouth and throat.If you do not feel better or feel worse after 3 days, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Tantum Verde® with mint flavor 3 mg lozenges contain the active ingredient benzydamine hydrochloride.One lozenge contains 3 mg of benzydamine hydrochloride, which is equivalent to 2.68 mg of benzydamine.The other ingredients are isomalt (E953), aspartame (E951), levomenthol, citric acid monohydrate, lemon flavor, mint flavor, quinoline yellow (E104) and indigo carmine (E132).

Contraindications

Tantum Verde® must not be used if you are allergic to benzydamine hydrochloride, levomenthol, isomalt (E953), aspartame (E951), citric acid monohydrate, lemon flavor, mint flavor, quinoline yellow (E104) or indigo carmine (E132).

Dosage

The recommended dose for adults and children over 6 years is one lozenge 3 times a day.Do not use more than 3 lozenges a day.Children between 6 and 11 years of age should take the medicine under adult supervision.The “lozenge” dosage form is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.

Do not use Tantum Verde® for longer than 7 days.If pain persists or worsens, see your doctor or pharmacist.For use in the mouth and throat.Allow one lozenge to slowly dissolve in your mouth.Don't swallow.Don't chew.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product if you suffer from phenylketonuria, have or have suffered from asthma, are hypersensitive to acetylsalicylic acid or other pain-relieving or anti-inflammatory medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or if your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars.

If mouth or throat pain worsens or does not improve within 3 days, fever or other symptoms occur, you should contact your doctor or dentist.

The medicine does not affect your ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.The medicine should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Notes

Tantum Verde® with mint flavor 3 mg lozenges contain isomalt, aspartame, butylated hydroxyanisole, levomenthol, mint and lemon flavor.The “lozenge” dosage form is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
