Directions for use of the article Aescuven coated tablets. Aescuven is a herbal medicinal product for the treatment of symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency in adults. The tablets contain the active substance horse chestnut seed dry extract, standardised to 30 mg triterpene glycosides ber. as anhydrous aescin. Before use, certain contraindications should be taken into account, such as an allergy to horse chestnut seed dry extract. Caution should also be exercised in the case of reddening of the skin, pain in the legs or heart complaints. The dosage is usually 2 tablets in the morning and evening.
