EFFIPRO® 50 mg SPOT-ON for cats is a spot-on solution used to treat flea and tick infestations in cats.The product is effective against fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.) and various species of ticks, including Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus.The insecticidal effect against fleas lasts up to five weeks, while the acaricidal effect against ticks lasts up to two weeks.However, for some species of ticks it can take up to a week to kill all the ticks.

This veterinary medicinal product may also be used as part of a treatment plan to control flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), provided this diagnosis has been previously made by a veterinarian.No prescription is required for this product.

Application

EFFIPRO® 50 mg SPOT-ON for cats is applied locally to the skin.One pipette with 0.5 ml is used per animal.Hold the pipette vertically and tap the narrow part so that all the contents are in the main part of the pipette.Break off the cap along the marked line.

Part the fur to expose the skin and place the pipette tip directly on the skin.Squeeze the pipette several times to empty the contents onto the skin.Repeat this process in one or two other places on the cat's neck area, preferably at the base of the skull and between the shoulders.

The fur should not be excessively wet as this can cause the hair to stick together at the application site.If this happens, the problem will resolve within 24 hours of treatment.Whitish solution residue may be visible up to 48 hours after treatment.

To optimally eliminate a flea and/or tick infestation, a treatment plan can be drawn up according to the epidemiological conditions on site.The minimum waiting time until the next treatment is four weeks as there are no corresponding tolerability studies.

Notes

Due to a lack of data, it is recommended not to use the veterinary medicinal product in kittens younger than two months and/or lighter than one kilogram.Do not use the product on sick or recovering animals or rabbits, as side effects and even death may result.If you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients, the medicine should also not be used.

Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.

Composition

A 0.5 ml pipette contains 50.00 mg of the active ingredient fipronil.Other ingredients include butylated hydroxyanisole and butylated hydroxytoluene.
