Pantoprazole-ratiopharm SK 20 mg tablets are used for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms such as heartburn and acid regurgitation in adults. The active ingredient pantoprazole inhibits the secretion of stomach acid and thus reduces acid production in the stomach. This relieves the symptoms. The medicine is taken unchewed with a glass of water before a meal. The recommended dosage is one tablet a day. A treatment period of 2-3 consecutive days is recommended to develop the full effect. The intake should not last longer than 4 weeks, unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor. The medicine should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Before taking the medicine, you should inform the doctor if you have a serious illness or notice certain symptoms such as weight loss, vomiting of blood or difficulty swallowing. Side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, headache or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. The medicine must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the other ingredients.
