Instructions for use of the article Durafiber 10x12 cm dressing: DURAFIBER is an absorbent, gelling wound dressing/wound filler made of cellulose ethyl sulphonate fibres. It is ideal for the treatment of wounds with medium to high amounts of exudate. With a lying time of up to seven days, the dressing provides economical care. The Durafiber dressing has a size of 10 x 12 cm. Properties of DURAFIBER are the high absorption capacity and retention, which trap the wound exudate and harmful bacteria. The dressing remains intact and firm but is easily removed. It shrinks minimally and covers the wound bed continuously. The risk of horizontal spread of exudate is minimised by vertical absorption, which reduces the risk of maceration of the surrounding skin. In addition, the dressing supports wound healing by creating a moist wound environment. The dressing can remain on the wound for up to seven days and requires a secondary dressing. Durafiber DURAFIBER re DURAFIBER tains fluid even under pressure. DURAFIBER can be used in the management of a variety of wounds including chronic and acute wounds, full/partial skin wounds, shallow granulating exuding wounds, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, secondary healing wounds, skin removal sites, fistula tracts and tunneled wounds, second degree burns, traumatic wounds and wounds prone to bleeding.
