Instructions for use for ACC acute 200 mg cough solver, effervescent tablets, 20 pcs
ACC® acute 200 mg for coughs - for the whole family from 2 years
ACC® acute 200 mg: The cough reliever for the whole family from 2 years
If a child develops a cold and cough, the rest of the family will often soon become ill as well.Coughing is a particularly annoying symptom of a cold that you want to get rid of quickly, as difficult coughing and stuck-on mucus can quickly limit everyday life. It's good that there is ACC® acute 200 mg cough reliever. The effervescent tablets can be dosed according to age, are well tolerated and have a delicious blackberry taste. They are suitable for the whole family (for children aged 2 and over). ACC® acute 200 mg cough remover loosens mucus, makes it easier to cough up and thus clears the bronchi.
How does a cough occur and how can ACC® acute 200 mg help?
In most cases, coughing is caused by viruses that penetrate the respiratory tract and cause inflammation of the mucous membrane. The inflammation of the mucous membrane causes increased viscous mucus to form. This causes the lungs' self-cleaning mechanism to stall. The mucus can no longer be removed properly and a persistent cough often occurs.Acetylcysteine - the active ingredient in ACC® acute 200 mg cough solver - supports this natural self-healing process by liquefying the tough, stuck-on mucus. The more liquid mucus can be coughed up more easily, clearing the bronchi. The body's defense processes also try to fight the viruses. This leads to the respiratory tract being flooded with so-called free radicals (so-called oxidative stress). This leads to excessive mucus production in the bronchi.
Thanks to its double antioxidant properties, ACC® fights free radicals in two ways: As an antioxidant, acetylcysteine directly neutralizes the free radicals. But ACC® can do even more. The active ingredient is also converted into the body's own antioxidant and thus indirectly contributes to fighting free radicals. This double antioxidant property regulates further mucus production and makes coughing up easier. The cough can now better fulfill its useful function: to clean the airways and thus free the bronchi.
For over 25 years, consumers have trusted the proven, expectorant effect of ACC®.The mucous cough that usually occurs towards the end of a cold can be persistent and annoying.Coughing up and loosening stuck mucus can provide relief.
Drink enough
Adequate fluid intake is important to protect the respiratory tract. The mucous membranes remain moistened, can carry out their natural protective function and the cold can subside more easily. You should pay more attention to ensuring that children with colds in particular drink enough.
Cough runs in the family
Children in kindergarten or school get sick more often when they run around and play together. At home it doesn't take long until the whole family becomes infected. ACC® acute 200 mg cough solver can make coughing easier for all family members aged 2 and over.
Increased risk of infection
Viruses are mostly transmitted through droplets or smear infections. The spread of a cold therefore happens quickly. The risk of infection is particularly high in kindergartens and schools, where children play and learn together in a small space.
Frequently Asked Questions & Answers
How can ACC® acute 200 mg help as a cough reliever?
During a cold, thick mucus often forms in the respiratory tract after a few days, which is difficult to cough up.It blocks the so-called cilia of the body's own cleaning system of the respiratory tract, which restricts their movement and can no longer remove stuck-on mucus. As long as the mucus produced is very viscous and therefore stuck in the bronchi, it is difficult to cough up and thus clean the airways. The active ingredient acetylcysteine contained in ACC® acute 200 mg breaks down the cross-connections in the secretion network so that the thick mucus liquefies. The mucus, which is now more liquid, can be more easily removed from the respiratory tract and coughed up.
How long can I take ACC® acute 200 mg cough reliever?
If the clinical picture worsens or there is no improvement after 4 - 5 days, you should consult a doctor.
When should I take ACC® acute 200 mg?
In principle, the time of administration has no influence on the effectiveness of ACC® acute 200 mg. We recommend taking it before 4 p.m., preferably after a meal, so that the stuck mucus can be loosened and coughed up during the day.If taken in the evening, increased coughing may occur at night and in the early morning hours, which can impair restful sleep.

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children. You may no longer use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the folding box and the sealed pouch after “use by”.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.Do not store above 30°C.

Mode of action
When you have a cold, a viscous mucus develops that has a different composition than the watery bronchial mucus that is normally present. It makes breathing difficult and therefore triggers a constant urge to cough. ACC® acute 200 mg cough solver effervescent tablets dissolves viscous mucus, makes coughing easier and also strengthens the body's own bronchial protection. The active ingredient acetylcysteine contained in ACC® acute 200 mg cough solver effervescent tablets is a precursor to the natural amino acid cysteine.Acetylcysteine dissolves cross-links, so-called disulfide bridges, in the “secretion network,” which make the mucus tougher and thicker. This allows the mucus to liquefy again and be coughed up more easily. The cough can better fulfill its useful function again: cleaning the respiratory tract.Acetylcysteine also has a double antioxidant effect: it can directly intercept radicals and is also metabolized in the body to form glutathione, an important body's own protective system for neutralizing free radicals.

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to acetylcysteine or any of the other ingredients. This medicine must not be used in children under 2 years of age.

Warnings and precautions
Very rarely, severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome have been reported in connection with the use of acetylcysteine. If changes to the skin and mucous membranes occur, medical advice should be sought immediately and the use of acetylcysteine should be stopped.
Caution is advised if you suffer from bronchial asthma or have had or have a stomach or intestinal ulcer in the past.
Caution is advised in patients with histamine intolerance.Long-term therapy should be avoided in these patients, as ACC® acute 200 mg cough solver effervescent tablets influences histamine metabolism and can lead to intolerance symptoms (e.g. headaches, runny nose, itching).
The use of ACC® acute 200 mg cough solver effervescent tablets can, especially at the beginning of treatment, lead to liquefaction and thus to an increase in the volume of the bronchial secretion. If you are unable to cough it up sufficiently, your doctor will take appropriate measures for you.
Taking ACC® acute 200 mg cough solver effervescent tablets together with other medicines Tell your doctor or your pharmacy if you are taking/using other medicines, have recently taken/used other medicines or intend to take/use other medicines.Interaction studies have only been conducted in adults.
Antitussives (cough suppressants) When using ACC® acute 200 mg cough solver effervescent tablets and cough suppressants (antitussives) in combination, a dangerous build-up of secretions can occur due to the restricted cough reflex, so the indication for this combination treatment should be made with particular care. Therefore, be sure to ask your doctor before combined use.
Activated charcoal The use of activated charcoal can reduce the effects of acetylcysteine.
Antibiotics From experimental studies there is evidence that acetylcysteine reduces the effectiveness of antibiotics (tetracyclines, aminoglycosides, penicillins). For safety reasons, antibiotics should be taken separately and at least 2 hours apart. This does not apply to medicines containing the active ingredients cefixime and loracarbef. These can be taken at the same time as acetylcysteine.
Nitroglycerin An increase in the vasodilator and blood-thinning effect of glycerol trinitrate (nitroglycerin) has been reported when administered simultaneously with acetylcysteine. If your doctor considers joint treatment with nitroglycerin and ACC® acute 200 mg cough solver effervescent tablets to be necessary, he will monitor you for a possible reduction in blood pressure (hypotension), which can be serious and can be indicated by possible headaches.
Changes in the determination of laboratory parameters Acetylcysteine can influence the determination of the content of salicylates. In urine tests, acetylcysteine can influence the results of the determination of ketone bodies.
Dissolving ACC® acute 200 mg cough solver effervescent tablets at the same time as other medicines is not recommended.
