Corneregel® Fluid - For healing the cornea in dry eyes

Corneregel® Fluid is an agent to support the treatment of corneal damage in dry eyes.The eye drops contain hypromellose as an additional ingredient and relieve symptoms such as itching, burning, sandy feeling and red eyes that can occur in connection with dry eye.

With the active ingredient dexpanthenol, Corneregel® Fluid promotes the regeneration of the structures on the surface of the eye and ensures pleasant and long-lasting lubrication of the eye.Dexpanthenol has been used successfully for decades to treat injuries and damage to the skin and mucous membranes.It is converted into the body's own provitamin B5 in the cells and can accelerate the natural healing process and rapid regeneration of the injured cornea.Due to its very good tolerability, dexpanthenol is also suitable for long-term use.

Areas of application

Corneregel® Fluid is used to support the treatment of corneal damage in dry eyes.It helps relieve symptoms such as itching, burning, sandy feeling, and red eyes that can occur in association with dry eye.The ingredients dexpanthenol and hypromellose promote the regeneration of the structure of the eye surface and achieve pleasant and long-lasting moisturization.

Mode of action

Corneregel® Fluid contains the active ingredient dexpanthenol, which accelerates the natural healing process and regeneration of the cornea.Dexpanthenol is converted in the cells to the body's own provitamin B5.Due to its good tolerance, it is also suitable for long-term use.

50 mg dexpanthenol, disodium edetate 2-water (excipient), disodium hydrogen phosphate 12-water (excipient), hypromellose (excipient), sodium dihydrogen phosphate 2-water (excipient), water for injections (excipient), cetrimide (excipient).

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.

Dosage

Recommended use of Corneregel® Fluid: Unless otherwise prescribed, drip 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 3 to 5 times a day or more often and before going to bed.Tilt your head back and use the index finger of one hand to pull the lower eyelid down.With your other hand, hold the dropper bottle vertically over the eye without touching it and gently press the dropper bottle to instill 1 drop into the pulled-down conjunctival sac.Slowly close your eye and move it back and forth to spread the drop well.

Contact lenses should be removed before using Corneregel® Fluid and only reinserted after 15 minutes.Corneregel® Fluid can impair visual performance and the ability to react for a few minutes due to the formation of streaks.You should therefore not drive, operate machines or work without a secure footing during this period.The eye drops must no longer be used 6 weeks after opening.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using the drug for contact lens wearers.Contact lens wearers should not use the product while wearing the lenses, as this could potentially lead to incompatibilities with the lens material.Contact lenses should therefore be removed before using the medication and not reinserted until approximately 15 minutes later.

Since this medicine can cause blurred vision that lasts only a few minutes due to the formation of streaks after it has been instilled into the conjunctival sac of the eye, you should not operate machines, work without a secure grip and do not drive in traffic during this time.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice before using Corneregel® Fluid.Since it is not known how much dexpanthenol is absorbed into the bloodstream after local application to the eye, when using Corneregel® Fluid during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the benefits of use should be carefully weighed against any possible risks.

Notes

The eye drops may no longer be used 6 weeks after opening.No prescription is required for this product.

Other

If other eye drops or eye ointments are also used, there should be at least a period of 15 minutes between the use of the different medications.The solution should definitely be administered last.Contact lens wearers should remove them before using the solution and only put them back in about 15 minutes afterwards.The medicine can briefly affect visual performance and therefore the ability to react in traffic and when operating machines by causing streaks.
