Omeprazole - 1 A Pharma 20 mg for heartburn is an enteric-coated hard capsule used for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms. Reflux is the backflow of stomach acid that can cause heartburn and acid reflux. Omeprazole belongs to a group of medicines called "proton pump inhibitors" that reduce the production of stomach acid. It is important to take the capsules according to the package leaflet or the instructions given by your doctor or pharmacist. You should swallow the capsules whole with half a glass of water and not chew or crush them. The capsules can be taken with or without food. The recommended dose is one capsule per day for a period of 14 days. If there is no improvement in symptoms after this period, a doctor should be consulted.
