Heartburn and acid reflux are common complaints that many people suffer from.Acidic gastric juice rises into the esophagus, which is less well protected than the stomach.This can cause burning chest pain and a sour taste in the mouth.

Omeprazole - 1 A Pharma® 20 mg for heartburn belongs to the group of proton pump inhibitors.These active ingredients reduce the production of stomach acid and therefore effectively help against heartburn.

Effect and application

The active ingredient omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor.These active ingredients reduce the amount of acid the stomach produces.The medicine is used in adults for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux.

Reflux describes the backflow of acid from the stomach into the esophagus, which can lead to inflammation and pain.Typical symptoms include a burning pain in the chest that travels up to the throat and a sour taste in the mouth.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each capsule contains 20 mg of the active ingredient omeprazole.The other ingredients include carrageenan, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium salt, dibutyl sebacate, printing ink, shellac, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol, butanol, ammonium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, iron(II,III)oxide, hyprolose, hypromellose, hypromellose phthalate, potassium chloride, lactose, polysorbate 80, povidone,Talc, titanium dioxide and purified water.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to omeprazole or any of the other ingredients.The medicine should also not be used if you are allergic to other proton pump inhibitors or are taking nelfinavir (an anti-HIV medication).If you are unsure, please speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose is 1 capsule (20 mg omeprazole) once daily for 14 days.Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve.

Do not take the medicine for longer than 14 days without medical advice.If you overdose or forget to take a dose, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Intake

It is recommended to take the capsules in the morning, either with food or on an empty stomach.Swallow the capsules whole with half a glass of water.Do not chew or crush the capsules as they contain enteric-coated pellets that release the active ingredient in the intestines.

Patient information

Do not take the medicine for more than 14 days without consulting your doctor.If your symptoms do not go away or worsen, see your doctor.Also tell your doctor about any other health changes or symptoms you may experience while taking it.

Omeprazole may impair the ability to drive or use machines, especially if side effects such as dizziness or vision problems occur.Be careful and avoid such activities if you are impaired.
