Emser salt in a bag weighing 1.475 grams is used to support the treatment of acute infections of the upper respiratory tract as well as chronic inflammatory diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses. It also helps cleanse the nasal mucous membranes and can be used after sinus surgery to speed healing. The amount of salt in this bag is specifically designed for teenagers.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
1 Gram of Emser salt contains 1 gram of natural Emser salt as an active ingredient.100 milliliters of an isoosmotic solution contains 342 milligrams of sodium ions and 7 milligrams of potassium ions.1 gram of natural Emser salt is obtained by evaporating 350 milliliters of pure spring water, which is taken from the mineral-rich thermal spring in Bad Ems.A bag of Emser salt in a 1.475 gram bag therefore contains 1.475 grams of natural Emser salt.
Mode of action
The natural Ems salt is used in solution for the local treatment of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract.Rinsing the nose with the saline solution or inhaling it moistens the surface of the mucous membrane, increases the beat frequency of the ciliary hairs and thereby improves the cleaning mechanism of the respiratory tract. The use of the Emser salt solution loosens stuck mucus in acute infections and also neutralizes the acids resulting from inflammatory reactions using hydrogen carbonate ions.
Contraindications
Emser salt in a bag containing 1.475 grams must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to Emser salt, injuries to the roof of the nose and the walls of the paranasal sinuses in connection with rhinoliquorrhoea or a strongly increased tendency to nosebleeds.Particular caution is required in cases of severe hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract, such as bronchial asthma, and when following a diet low in potassium and sodium.According to the manufacturer, there are no restrictions for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
