Instructions for use for Ginkobil ratiopharm 40mg with Ginkgo biloba, 60 pcs
Ginkobil® ratiopharm 40 mg film-coated tablets - herbal medicine with high-quality ginkgo extract
Ginkobil® ratiopharm 40 mg film-coated tablets contain a dry extract of ginkgo leaves. The herbal medicine is used for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders as part of an overall therapeutic concept for dementia syndromes. These syndromes manifest themselves as memory impairments, difficulty concentrating, depressive moods, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches. The individual response to medication cannot be predicted. Before treatment with ginkgo extract is started, it should be clarified whether the symptoms of the disease are not due to an underlying disease that requires specific treatment.
In addition, the medicine is used to extend the pain-free walking distance in cases of arterial occlusive disease in the limbs, also known as “intermittent claudication” (intermittent claudication in stage II to FONTAINE), as part of physical therapeutic measures, in particular walking training. The medication can also be used for dizziness and ringing in the ears caused by circulatory problems or age-related regression processes.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
Each film-coated tablet contains 40 mg of dry ginkgo leaf extract, extracted with acetone-water (35-67:1).This corresponds to 9.8 mg ginkgo flavon glycosides, 1.12-1.36 mg ginkgolide A, B and C (x:y:z), 1.04-1.28 mg bilobalide and a maximum of 0.2 µg ginkgolic acids.Other ingredients include croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, lactose-1-water, macrogol 1500, magnesium stearate, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, dimeticone silicon dioxide-a-hydro-ω-octadecyloxypoly(oxyethylene)-5-sorbic acid water, talc, titanium dioxide and iron (III) oxide.
Area of application
The medicine is a blood circulation-promoting herbal agent that is used for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders as part of an overall therapeutic concept for dementia syndromes. These syndromes include memory impairment, difficulty concentrating, depressed mood, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches. The medication is also used to extend the pain-free walking distance in peripheral arterial disease in stage II to FONTAINE (intermittent claudication, "intermittent claudication") as part of physical-therapeutic measures, in particular walking training. It can also be used for dizziness and ringing in the ears caused by circulatory disorders or age-related regression processes.
The primary target group are patients with dementia syndrome in primary degenerative dementia, vascular dementia and mixed forms of both. Before treatment is started, it should be clarified whether the symptoms of the disease are not due to an underlying disease that requires specific treatment.
Dosage
Always take the medicine exactly as directed. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders is 1 - 2 tablets 3 times a day.To extend the pain-free walking distance with peripheral arterial disease, take 1½ - 2 tablets twice a day.For dizziness and ringing in the ears of vascular and involutive origin, take 1½ - 2 tablets twice a day.
In the case of performance disorders caused by organic brain disorders, the duration of treatment should be at least 8 weeks. After a treatment period of 3 months, the doctor must check whether continued treatment is still justified. In the case of arterial occlusive disease in the limbs, an improvement in walking distance requires a treatment period of at least 6 weeks. In the case of dizziness, use over a period longer than 6 to 8 weeks does not improve the treatment result.Supportive treatment for ringing in the ears should be carried out over a period of at least 12 weeks. If there is no success after 6 months, this can no longer be expected even with longer treatment.
Intake
The medicine is intended to be taken orally and should not be taken while lying down. Please take the tablets whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water. It is used when taken 3 times a day in the morning, at midday and in the evening, and when taken 2 times a day in the morning and evening. It can be taken regardless of meals. To divide the tablet, place it on a firm surface with the score line facing up and cut it in half by applying light pressure with your thumb.
Patient information
Particular caution is required when taking the drug if there is a pathologically increased tendency to bleeding or if you are being treated with anticoagulant drugs at the same time.In these cases, the medicine should only be used after consulting a doctor.Since preparations containing ginkgo can increase the risk of bleeding, the medicine must be discontinued before surgery. Please inform your doctor in good time, who will decide how to proceed. There are insufficient studies on the use of this medicine in children under 12 years of age, so it should not be used at this age.
No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.
Pregnancy
Before taking/using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.Experimental studies showed no evidence of a teratogenic effect of the ginkgo extract contained in this medicine. However, since there is no experience in humans and its use during pregnancy is not justified, the benefits of treatment during pregnancy must be carefully weighed against the possible risks. It is not known whether the ingredients of ginkgo extract pass into breast milk.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active medicinal ingredient or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
Notes
No prescription is required for this product.Contains lactose and less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per film-coated tablet, meaning it is virtually “sodium-free”.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
Frequently occurring feelings of dizziness and ringing in the ears generally require medical clarification. If hearing impairment or hearing loss suddenly occurs, you should consult a doctor immediately.
