Ginkobil ratiopharm 80 mg contains Ginkgo biloba leaf dry extract and is used for the symptomatic treatment of brain-organic performance disorders as part of an overall therapeutic concept. This syndrome is manifested by memory disorders, concentration disorders, depressive mood, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches. The individual efficacy of the medicinal product cannot be predicted and it is recommended to exclude other possible underlying diseases before starting treatment. The medicinal product is also used to prolong the pain-free walking distance in peripheral arterial occlusive disease and to relieve dizziness and ringing in the ears due to circulatory disorders or age-related regression processes. The recommended dosage is 1 film-coated tablet 2-3 times a day for performance disorders and walking distance extension and 1 film-coated tablet 2 times a day for dizziness and ringing in the ears. The medicine should be used over a period of 8 weeks to 3 months, depending on the symptoms. It is recommended to take with liquid and to discuss the dosage with a doctor or pharmacist if there are any concerns. The medicine is not suitable for children under 18 years of age and may cause side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, headache and allergic skin reactions. It contains lactose and is almost sodium-free. Before use, possible interactions with other medicines as well as contraindications such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients or increased bleeding tendency should be considered.
