Biolectra Magnesium 243 mg forte effervescent tablets with lemon flavour are a mineral preparation for the treatment of proven magnesium deficiency. This deficiency can cause disturbances in muscle activity such as neuromuscular disorders and calf cramps. The effervescent tablets contain magnesium as light magnesium oxide in 243 mg per tablet. The dosage depends on the degree of magnesium deficiency and is usually 1-2 tablets daily for adolescents and adults and 1 tablet for children 6 years and older. The tablets are dissolved in a glass of water and taken. The duration of use depends on the severity of the magnesium deficiency and should be monitored by a doctor. The medicine should not be used in certain contraindications such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients, impaired kidney function or dehydration. Possible side effects are soft stools, gastrointestinal complaints, diarrhoea and fatigue. It should be stored away from moisture.
