The solution contains chlorhexidine digluconate as the active ingredient in a concentration of 200 mg per 100 ml. The following excipients are also included: citric acid 1-water, glycerol, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, patent blue V, peppermint oil, sorbitol solution 70%, non-crystallizing and purified water.

Mode of action

The solution is used to briefly combat bacterial inflammation in the oral cavity.The active ingredient chlorhexidine leads to a massive reduction in the number of germs and can therefore be used for inflammation of the gums (gingivitis), inflammation of the oral mucosa, limited ability to maintain oral hygiene and after periodontal surgery.The solution is alcohol-free, tastes pleasant and can therefore be used by children aged 6 and over and adults.Regular use over a period of up to 14 days is possible.

Area of application

The solution is used to support after periodontal surgery and to briefly combat bacterial inflammation in the oral cavity.

Dosage

The recommended dosage is 10 ml of the solution twice daily, swished in the mouth for about 1 minute.The solution includes a cap with a measurement indicator for easy dosing.After rinsing, the solution should be spit out; rinsing with water is not necessary.It is recommended not to consume food or sweets for one hour after use to ensure optimal effect.For periodontal symptoms, the use of a special toothbrush with very gentle, microfine bristle ends is recommended.

Intake

The oral cavity is rinsed thoroughly for 1 minute and the solution is then spit out.It should be used after brushing your teeth and then rinsing carefully with water.The solution is ready for use and should therefore be used undiluted.

Contraindications

The product should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, in tissues with poor blood circulation, on the eardrum, on the eye and in the area around the eye.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it if there are wounds, ulcers or peelings of the oral mucosa.People for whom control over the swallowing reflex is not guaranteed should not use the medicine.For intensive care patients, care must be taken to avoid contact with the meninges and the central nervous system.The solution should not be swallowed and care should be taken to avoid contact with eyes and ears.Effects that occur at the start of treatment, such as reduced taste sensations or burning sensation on the tongue, decrease with increasing duration of treatment.If the oral mucosa becomes detached or the parotid glands swell, treatment should be discontinued.Chlorhexidine bis(D-gluconate) can trigger allergic reactions including anaphylactic shock.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor, dentist or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.There is not much experience with its use in pregnant women and it is not known whether the medicine passes into breast milk.Therefore, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should use the product with caution.

Notes

The effect of chlorhexidine is impaired by toothpastes containing anionic surfactants, such as sodium lauryl sulfate.This impairment does not occur with toothpastes without anionic surfactants, such as meridol toothpaste.
