Areas of application

The medicine is intended for the external treatment of fungal skin diseases.It is used for various fungal infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts such as Candida species and molds.It is also effective for erythrasma, a skin disease caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum, as well as for pityriasis versicolor and superficial yeast infections (candidiasis).

Active ingredients and ingredients

The main active ingredient of this medicine is clotrimazole.In addition, it contains the following excipients: (RS)-2-octyldodecan-1-ol, 2-phenoxyethanol, alpha-tocopherol, carbomer 934 P, glycerol monostearate, sodium hydroxide, palmitoyl ascorbic acid, polysorbate 80, sorbitan stearate, Tris [cetylstearylpoly (oxyethylen)-4] phosphate, white petroleum jelly and purified water.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to clotrimazole or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Dosage and application

Always use the medicine exactly as directed.Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, apply the cream thinly to the affected skin areas 2 to 3 times a day.The duration of treatment depends on the type of disease.In order to achieve complete healing, treatment should not be stopped immediately after the acute symptoms have subsided.

For fungal skin diseases, the treatment period is generally 3 to 4 weeks.1 to 3 weeks are usually sufficient for bran fungus, and 1 to 2 weeks for fungal infections in the genital area.In the case of athlete's foot, therapy should be continued for 2 weeks after the signs of the disease have disappeared in order to avoid recurrence.

If you have used a larger amount of the medicine than you should, poisoning is not to be expected, as no active ingredient concentrations can be detected in the blood when used externally.If you forget to use it, do not use a double dose and continue treatment at the usual dose.

For successful treatment, it is important to stick to the intended duration of use, even if you already feel better.If not treated adequately, the fungal disease can spread or recur.

Apply the cream thinly to the affected skin areas and rub it in.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.Clotrimazole should not be used in the vagina during the first 3 months of pregnancy.Breastfeeding women should not use the medicine on the breast area to avoid direct contact of the infant with clotrimazole.
