Areas of application

This gastrointestinal remedy is used for indigestion with flatulence.It is also used to replace digestive enzymes in digestive disorders associated with increased gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract.These disorders can be caused by inadequate or missing pancreatic function.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The main active ingredients of this drug are porcine pancreas powder, simeticone, as well as various enzymes such as triacylglycerol lipase, amylase and proteases.In addition, it contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, quinoline yellow, copovidone, croscarmellose sodium salt, diethyl phthalate, iron (III) oxide yellow, hypromellose, indigo carmine, lactose, carbohydrates, macrogol 20000 and 6000, methacrylic acid-methyl methacrylate copolymer (1:1), polysorbate 80, povidone, talc, titanium dioxide andtricalcium phosphate.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to simeticone, pancreatin from porcine pancreas or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.The usual dose is 1 to 2 tablets per meal, equivalent to 15,000 to 30,000 Ph.-Eur. units of lipase per meal.The dosage depends on the severity of the pancreatic indigestion.The dose should only be increased under medical supervision.The daily enzyme dose should not exceed 15,000 to 20,000 Ph. Eur. units of lipase per kilogram of body weight.Due to the simeticone content, a dose of 3 x 2 tablets should not be exceeded.

The duration of use depends on the course of the disease and is determined by your doctor.There are no known restrictions on the duration of use.If you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Overdoses are not known.If you still experience any symptoms, please inform your doctor.Do not take a double dose if you forget to take a dose.Do not stop or stop taking your medication without consulting your doctor.

Intake

The tablets are taken whole with meals and plenty of liquid.Make sure to swallow the tablets whole, otherwise their effectiveness will be reduced and the enzymes they contain can damage the mucous membrane.

Patient information

Particular caution is required in patients with cystic fibrosis as intestinal obstruction is a known complication.The medicine should not be used in acute pancreatitis or acute attacks of chronic pancreatitis.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

There is no sufficient clinical experience with the drug in pregnant and breastfeeding women.It should therefore only be used after consulting your doctor.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.It contains lactose.If you have any further questions about using the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Other

In the case of cystic fibrosis, the amount of intake necessary for adequate fat digestion should not be exceeded.An increase in the amount taken should only be done under medical supervision and should be aimed at improving the symptoms.A daily intake of 15,000 to 20,000 units of the lipase contained per kg of body weight should not be exceeded.If you have cystic fibrosis, have your urine checked regularly (risk of uric acid stone formation).
