Mode of action

At the first signs of a bladder infection, the symptoms can be quickly alleviated and complications prevented.The dry extract from bearberry leaves in Cystinol akut® has an antibacterial and germ-inhibiting effect.The glycosides arbutin and methylarbutin contained in bearberry leaves are broken down by the body and excreted in the urine.These develop their antibacterial effect on the urethra and ureters, so that bacteria on the mucous membrane are killed and prevented from implanting.

Cystinol akut® contains:

238.7 - 297.5 mg dry extract from bearberry leaves (3.5 - 5.6:1), corresponding to 70 mg hydroquinone derivatives.Extractant: Ethanol 60% (V/V).

Other components of Cystinol akut®:

Microcrystalline cellulose, long-chain partial glycerides, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 6000, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.), highly dispersed silicon dioxide, quinoline yellow E 104, indigo carmine E 132, titanium dioxide E 171.

Contraindications

This product should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in children under 12 years of age.Take special care if there is blood in the urine, fever and symptoms persist for more than 5 days.

Dosage

Recommended use of Cystinol akut®:

Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and adolescents aged 12 and over take 2 tablets of Cystinol akut® 3 times a day.Take the tablets with plenty of liquid after meals.

Cystinol akut® should not be taken for longer than 1 week at a time and a maximum of 5 times a year without medical advice.

Intake

The coated tablets should be taken with plenty of liquid, preferably water, after meals.

Patient information

Medicines containing arbutin should not be taken for longer than 1 week and no more than 5 times a year without medical advice.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take medication after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The medicine must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
