Herpotherm for cold sores is a medical product for the local treatment of accompanying symptoms of cold sores.If used in a timely manner, it can prevent the formation of cold sores.If used later, an easier course or earlier healing can be achieved.Herpotherm can provide quick and effective relief from itching, burning, tingling and feelings of tension.

Mode of action

Herpotherm works exclusively through concentrated heat and is therefore completely chemical-free.The application of concentrated heat, also known as local hyperthermia, is based on short, concentrated heat exposure to a narrow area of skin.At ambient temperatures of around 50 °C, herpes viruses are thermolabile.When they come into direct contact with this temperature, they are inactivated and their reproduction can be stopped.In addition, the cell's own heat shock proteins activate the immune system at this temperature.The short application time means the skin remains undamaged.

Product features

Herpotherm is a patented medical product for self-use by adults and children aged 12 and over.Use in children under 12 years of age should only be done with the support of an adult.Do not use the device on children under 3 years old.Since children's skin is more sensitive to pain than adults, it should be pointed out before treatment that the heat generated by Herpotherm could be uncomfortable for a short moment.

Herpotherm offers quick help at the push of a button and is chemical-free as it works exclusively through concentrated heat.It is dermatologically tested and is also suitable for allergy sufferers, children (from 3 years with the support of an adult, self-use from 12 years) and pregnant women.Herpotherm is a long-lasting alternative to creams and patches and comes with a replaceable battery.It is easy and practical to use and is made in Germany.

Application

Using Herpotherm is very easy.Remove the protective cap from the device and place the device with the ceramic contact surface on the affected skin area.Press it lightly and press the push button.The ceramic contact surface heats up to a temperature of approx. 51 ºC.As soon as this temperature is reached, an LED lights up.The LED goes out after the device switches off automatically after the application period of 3 seconds.An additional acoustic signal sounds at the beginning of the heating phase and at the end of the treatment.Place the protective cap on the device.

If symptoms persist or recur, repeated treatment of the same skin area is possible.Please leave a treatment break of at least 2 minutes between each application.A maximum number of 5 applications per hour (same area of skin) must not be exceeded.

Notes

Herpotherm should only be used by one and the same person.After use, you should disinfect the device with the disinfectant included in the packaging or another disinfectant.

Herpotherm must not be used in or on eyes and eyelids, mucous membranes, open wounds, injured skin (e.g. open blisters), scalds or burns of the skin, frostbite of the skin, known increased algesia (increased sensation of pain) in small fiber neuropathy, allodynia, hyperalgesia, tumors and malignant changes in the skin, people with known limited sensitivity to pain and temperature, immediately after application ofOintments, creams, lotions etc. on the affected area and moist skin.
