Pencivir for cold sores cream 1%
Pencivir is a herpes cream with the active ingredient penciclovir that is used to treat cold sores.This cream helps relieve pain and itching and accelerates crust formation during the natural healing process of acute episodes of mild forms of recurrent cold sores (recurrent herpes labialis).
Area of application
Pencivir cream 1% for cold sores is used to relieve pain and itching and to accelerate crust formation in acute episodes of mild forms of recurrent cold sores (recurrent herpes labialis).The cream is suitable for adults and teenagers aged 12 and over.Applied as soon as the first tingling sensation occurs, the active ingredient penciclovir inhibits the multiplication of herpes viruses due to its triple effect, relieves pain and shortens the healing time.The cream works in all stages of herpes development, from the first tingling sensation to the blisters phase, and is easy to apply and well tolerated.
Active ingredients and ingredients
Pencivir cream 1% for cold sores contains the active ingredient penciclovir in a concentration of 10 mg per 1 g of cream.The other ingredients are propylene glycol, purified water, white petroleum jelly, cetostearyl alcohol, thick paraffin and cetomacrogol 1000.
Contraindications
Pencivir cream 1% for cold sores should only be used on cold sores on the lip and around the mouth.Application to mucous membranes such as the eyes, mouth, nose or genitals is not recommended.Particular care should be taken to avoid application in or near the eye.Immunosuppressed individuals should consult a physician if oral therapy is indicated.
Dosage and application
Pencivir cream 1% for cold sores should be applied thinly to the infected skin areas during the day at 2-hour intervals (at least 6 times a day).The cream can be applied either with a clean finger or with a cotton swab smeared with an amount necessary for the size of the affected skin area.It is important to wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the cream.
Patient information
There is no experience with the use of Pencivir for cold sores in patients under 12 years of age.For this reason, the cream must not be used in these patients.No other special precautions are necessary while using Pencivir for cold sores.If you are not sure whether you have cold sores (herpes labialis), ask your doctor for advice.
There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.

Please inform your doctor and ask for advice if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, as the medicine should only be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding after carefully weighing the benefits and risks.
