Application

InfectoThrush oral gel is an antifungal agent used to treat yeast infections of the oral mucosa, also known as oral thrush.The active ingredient miconazole inhibits the growth and reproduction of fungi.The gel is suitable for infants, children and adults.

The medicine is used to treat yeast infections of the oral mucosa (oral thrush).It is a fungicidal agent against fungal infections (antifungal).

The active ingredient in InfectoSoor oral gel is miconazole.It contains 20 mg of miconazole per gram of gel.The other ingredients include polysorbate 20, saccharin sodium, pregelatinized potato starch, orange flavor, cocoa flavor, ethanol 96%, glycerol, purified water, D-limonene, linalool, citral, citronellol, geraniol, benzyl alcohol and benzyl cinnamate.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you or the child being treated are allergic to miconazole or related antifungal medicines or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The product must also not be used in cases of liver dysfunction, in infants under 4 months of age and in children in whom the swallowing reflex is not yet fully developed.In addition, it should not be taken at the same time as certain medicines that are broken down by the enzyme cytochrome P450-3A4 or cytochrome P450-2C9, such as certain medicines for cardiac arrhythmias, allergies, psychiatric disorders, malaria, migraines, cholesterol lowering, sleeping pills and sedatives and anticoagulants.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as described or exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for infants and children aged 4 to 24 months is one small measuring spoon (1 ml gel) four times daily.Adults and children aged 2 years and over should use a large scoop (2 ml gel) four times daily.The dosage information is intended as a guide only and may vary depending on the size of the oral cavity.Treatment should be continued for at least a week after the symptoms disappear.If the signs of oral thrush do not go away within the first 5 days of starting treatment, you should consult a doctor.

Intake

The gel is used for use in the oral cavity.Apply it four times throughout the day after meals.Apply the oral gel to the oral mucosa with a clean finger and distribute it evenly.For infants and young children, you should apply the gel in small portions to the front of the mouth to prevent it from entering the respiratory tract.The gel should be kept in the mouth for as long as possible and then swallowed.During daily dental care, the braces should also be brushed with oral gel.To treat yeast infections of the oral mucosa, dentures should be removed at night and also brushed with the gel.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product.Avoid contact with eyes.Particular caution is required when the disease occurs for the first time, if you or the child being treated have had such fungal infections several times in the past 12 months, or if you are taking other medicines.Care should be taken with infants and small children so that the gel does not block the throat.The gel has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.If you become pregnant during use, please notify your doctor.The product should not be used in the first three months of pregnancy.From the 4th month of pregnancy, the oral gel should only be used on the express instructions of the doctor.It is not known whether the active ingredient miconazole or its breakdown products pass into breast milk.It should therefore only be used during breastfeeding if specifically directed by your doctor.

Notes

Treatment should be carried out as described under dosage, even if the signs (symptoms) of the disease have already disappeared.The infection may still persist and may flare up again if the medication is stopped too soon.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
