Directions for use of the article Macrogol dura powder Macrogol dura powder is a laxative for the treatment of chronic constipation. The main ingredient is macrogol, whose mode of action is purely physical. Macrogol has the ability to bind a lot of water, which softens the hardened stool and increases the stool volume. This makes it easier for the intestinal muscles to transport the stool to the rectum, where it is then excreted. It is used by dissolving the contents of one sachet in 125 ml of water. The drinking solution should be freshly prepared and not mixed with other liquids or additives. The dosage recommendation for adults, adolescents and elderly patients with constipation is the contents of one sachet 1-3 times a day. The duration of treatment with Macrogol dura should not normally exceed 2 weeks. However, it can be used repeatedly if necessary, especially in severe chronic constipation or if this is caused by other diseases or medicines. In addition to macrogol, the preparation also contains sodium chloride, sodium hydrogen carbonate, and potassium chloride. It must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients or if certain conditions such as a perforated intestinal wall, intestinal blockage or severe inflammatory bowel disease are present. During pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking the product. If taken improperly, side effects such as pain, abdominal bloating or diarrhoea may occur.
