Directions for use of Dulcolax Dragees Dose: Dulcolax Dragees contain the active ingredient bisacodyl and are used to treat constipation. They are also suitable for emptying the bowel before operations and diagnostic procedures. It is recommended that Dulcolax Coated Tablets are not taken daily or over a long period of time without medical advice. Side effects in the gastrointestinal tract may be increased if the medicine is taken together with other laxatives. The coated tablets have a coating that is resistant to gastric acid and small intestine, which means that the active ingredient bisacodyl is only released in the large intestine. This stimulates the natural movement of the intestines and constipation can be relieved in a planned and well-tolerated way. Bowel emptying usually occurs 6-12 hours after taking the lozenges if they are taken before bedtime. The use of Dulcolax lozenges is recommended for the following cases: - Constipation - Diseases that require easier bowel emptying - Bowel emptying before operations and diagnostic procedures on the bowel. The coated tablets are best taken before going to bed on an empty stomach with a little water. The recommended dose for children aged 2-10 years is 1 coated tablet once a day in the evening before a meal. Children from 10 years and adults should take 1-2 dragées once a day in the evening before a meal. The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. There are various causes of constipation, including travel, stress, hormonal fluctuations, taking certain medications and increasing age. Digestion is a complex process in which food is absorbed and utilised. The time from food intake to defecation can vary in different people. Constipation can occur when the digestive process is disturbed. In general, laxative medications should only be used for short periods of time and without a doctor's recommendation. In addition to the active ingredient bisacodyl, Dulcolax Coated Tablets also contain other ingredients such as arabic gum, carnauba wax, quinoline yellow, yellow orange S, titanium dioxide, bleached wax, glycerol, maize starch, lactose, macrogol 6000, magnesium distearate, eudragit L 100, eudragit S 100, sucrose, talc, soluble starch and virgin castor oil. The medicine should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to the ingredients. People with intestinal obstruction, acute gastrointestinal diseases or disorders of water and mineral balance should also not take the medicine. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use. The medicine should be stored at room temperature and used for a maximum of 12 months after opening/preparation.
