Ambroxol AL drops are a medicine for dissolving mucus in respiratory diseases with thick mucus.The drops contain the active ingredient ambroxol hydrochloride and are used to treat acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs.They help to loosen the thick mucus and make it easier to cough up.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Ambroxol AL drops are used to facilitate coughing in bronchitis caused by colds.They are an expectorant and are used for respiratory diseases with thick mucus.The drops help to liquefy mucus and promote its removal from the bronchi.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

Ambroxol AL drops contain 7.5 mg ambroxol hydrochloride per milliliter.The following excipients are also included: citric acid 1-water, sodium cyclamate, sodium disulfite, sodium hydroxide, propylene glycol, sorbitol 70, purified water and benzoic acid.The drops also contain 0.01 BE total carbohydrates.

Contraindications

Ambroxol AL drops should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.The medicine must not be taken, especially if you are allergic to ambroxol hydrochloride.

Dosage

The drops are taken diluted in liquid (e.g. water, tea or juice) after meals.The dosage depends on the patient's age:

Children up to 2 years: 1 ml solution twice daily (corresponding to 15 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).

Children from 2 to 5 years: 1 ml solution 3 times daily (corresponding to 22.5 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).

Children aged 6 to 12 years: 2 ml solution 2 to 3 times daily (corresponding to 30 - 45 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: During the first 2-3 days, 4 ml solution 3 times a day (corresponding to 90 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day), then 4 ml solution 2 times a day (corresponding to 60 mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).

If the clinical picture worsens or if there is no improvement after 4-5 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Intake

Ambroxol AL drops are oral drops.They are taken diluted in liquid (e.g. water, tea or juice) with or without meals.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.Caution is advised in patients with histamine intolerance.Longer-term therapy should be avoided in these patients.Patients with impaired kidney or liver function should use the drops with particular caution.For some rare bronchial diseases, the drops should only be used under medical supervision.Children under 2 years of age may only take the drops if directed by a doctor.The ability to drive and use machines is not affected.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Since there is no sufficient experience with humans to date, you should only use the drops during pregnancy or breastfeeding if your doctor orders it.

Notes

Keep out of the reach of small children.Contains benzoic acid, propylene glycol, sorbitol and sodium metabisulfite.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.
