Areas of application

Rökan plus 80 mg film-coated tablets are used to treat symptoms caused by age-related circulatory disorders and organic brain performance disorders.These include memory problems, poor concentration, depressive moods, dizziness, tinnitus and headaches.The medication can also have a supportive effect on circulatory problems in the arms and legs, known as peripheral arterial disease.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 80 mg dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves, extracted with acetone water.The extract is quantified to contain 17.6-21.6 mg flavonoids, calculated as flavonoid glycosides, as well as 4.0-5.6 mg terpene lactones, of which 2.24-2.72 mg ginkgolides A, B and C and 2.08-2.56 mg bilobalide.The tablet contains less than 0.4 µg ginkgolic acids.

The other ingredients include croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 1500, magnesium stearate, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, simeticone alpha-hydro-omega-octadecyloxypoly(oxyethylene)-5-sorbic acid water, talc, titanium dioxide, iron (III) oxide and iron oxides and-hydroxides.

Contraindications

Rökan plus 80 mg must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to Ginkgo biloba extracts or any of the other ingredients.The medicine should not be used in children under 12 years of age as there are no sufficient studies.For depressive moods and headaches that do not occur in connection with dementia syndromes, the medication should only be taken taking into account all necessary precautions.

Dosage and application

For the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders, 1 film-coated tablet should be taken 2-3 times daily.For peripheral arterial disease and dizziness or tinnitus, 1 film-coated tablet twice a day is recommended.The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid and can be taken independently of meals.

The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the clinical picture.In the case of performance disorders caused by organic brain issues, treatment should last at least 8 weeks.For peripheral arterial disease, a treatment period of at least 6 weeks is required.In the case of dizziness and tinnitus, use for longer than 6-8 weeks does not provide any therapeutic benefits.

Side effects

Very rarely, mild gastrointestinal complaints, headaches or allergic skin reactions may occur after taking Rökan plus 80 mg.With long-term use, isolated cases of bleeding have been reported, the causal connection to the intake of ginkgo preparations has not been established.
