Heparin 60,000 IU Heumann Cream is a medicine that is used to support the treatment of acute swelling following blunt injuries such as bruises and bruises as well as superficial phlebitis, provided these cannot be treated with compression.The active ingredient heparin sodium, which comes from the group of mucopolysaccharides, inhibits the formation of blood clots and promotes the dissolution of existing clots.This reduces swelling and promotes healing.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The cream contains 60,000 IE heparin sodium as an active ingredient, which is obtained from pig mucosa.Excipients include ammonia, carbomer, decyl oleate, disodium edetat 2-water, isopropyl myristate, isopropyl alcohol, macrogol 400, thick paraffin, perfume oil, linalool, hydroxycitronellal, cinnamic alcohol, geraniol, benzyl salicylate, citronellol, citral and purified water.

Area of application

Dosage and application

The cream should be applied thinly and evenly to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day.It should not be used for longer than 10 days unless otherwise prescribed.When used as directed, there are no known symptoms of overdose.If an application is forgotten, double the amount should not be applied.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to heparin or any of the other ingredients.It must also not be used if there is an acute or known allergic drop in the blood platelet count (thrombocytopenia type II) caused by heparin.

Patient information

The cream should not be applied to open wounds or weeping eczema.If you experience new symptoms that could indicate a thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, such as swelling, warmth, red and tender skin, tightness and pain in the foot, calf and back of the knee, as well as sudden shortness of breath, chest pain and weakness, you should consult a doctor immediately.Regular checks of platelet levels are required every time heparin is used.

If drugs that interfere with blood clotting are used at the same time, an increased risk of bleeding cannot be ruled out.Bruising may occur more frequently or increase in extent.There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Experience to date has shown no evidence of harmful effects.Heparin does not cross the placenta and does not pass into breast milk.The cream must not be used on the breast area while breastfeeding.

Notes

The primary treatment for superficial phlebitis of the legs is treatment using pressure bandages.If applied to very large areas and simultaneous treatment with anticoagulants, the tendency to bleeding can be increased.After use, wash your hands thoroughly with soap.
