Instructions for use for Emser salt bags, 50 pieces
Emser Salz® - To reduce swelling, cleanse and moisten the nasal mucosa
Emser Salz® is used to treat respiratory diseases.Nasal rinsing with Emser Salz® is particularly recommended for acute and chronic inflammation of the nasal cavity, which is accompanied by increased mucus formation and swelling of the mucous membrane. The natural Emser salt contains no chemical additives to preserve or improve the flow properties. It consists of numerous valuable minerals and trace elements in a unique balance and combination. Its origin from the depths of the earth determines its natural purity. Its special composition causes it to be extremely well tolerated and increases the effectiveness of mechanical irrigation treatments of the main nasal cavity.
The unique triple effect of Emser Salz® actively dissolves mucus, has a decongestant effect and accelerates healing. The mineral composition is based on the composition of the nasal secretion. It is therefore well suited for moistening the nose when the mucous membrane is dry and for regular rinsing treatments in which mechanical cleaning of the nose is the main focus - such as hay fever.
Areas of application
Emser Salz® is used for rinsing the nose.Rinsing the nose is always useful when the nose needs to be intensively cleaned and moistened. This is important, for example, when there is increased dust and dirt, but also when there is increased mucus and crust formation. In times of increased risk of infection, regular nasal rinses prevent the development of colds. For people with allergies, it is recommended to regularly rinse your nose when there is pollen, especially in the evening before going to bed.Nasal rinses are also suitable for moistening the nasal mucosa and are therefore always useful when the nasal mucosa has become too dry due to environmental influences, such as air conditioning, heating air, etc.
Emser Salz® is used to support the treatment of acute infections of the upper respiratory tract and chronic inflammatory diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses as well as to cleanse the nasal mucous membranes. It can also be used as an adjunct to treatment to speed healing after sinus surgery.
Mode of action
The natural Ems salt is used in solution for the local treatment of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract.Rinsing the nose with the saline solution or inhaling it moistens the surface of the mucous membrane, increases the beat frequency of the ciliary hairs and thereby improves the cleaning mechanism of the respiratory tract.Another positive effect of using the Emser Salt® solution is the loosening of stuck mucus in acute infections.Hydrogen carbonate ions also neutralize the acids that arise locally during inflammatory reactions.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
1 g of Emser salt contains 1g of natural Emser salt as an active ingredient.100 ml isoosmotic solution contains 342 mg sodium ions and 7 mg potassium ions.1 g of natural Emser salt is obtained by evaporating 350 ml of pure spring water. This is taken from the mineral-rich thermal spring in Bad Ems.1 Emser salt in a bag contains 2.95 g of natural Emser salt.
Emser Salt is a mineral mixture with the unique Emser Medicinal Salt and is composed of 30 minerals and trace elements. In addition to sodium and chloride ions, it contains important minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, fluoride and sulfate.Since it is obtained by gently evaporating the Ems thermal water, only the minerals of the Ems thermal water are contained in their natural composition.
Contraindications
Emser Salz® must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to Emser Salt, injuries to the roof of the nose and the walls of the paranasal sinuses in connection with rhinoliquorrhoea (leakage of fluid from the nose) and a greatly increased tendency to nosebleeds.Particular caution should be taken when using Emser Salz® if there is severe hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract (e.g. bronchial asthma) and if you are following a diet low in potassium and sodium (please note the potassium and sodium ion content per dose!).According to the manufacturer, there are no restrictions for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. If necessary, consult a doctor.
Dosage
Emser Salz® must be used dissolved in water. This is usually done in an isoosmotic concentration (11.8 g of Emser salt in 1000 ml of water or 1 Emser salt in a bag in 250 ml of water), but can also be possible in higher concentrations if advised by a doctor. The following applies: inhalation through the nose 3-4 times a day for 10-15 minutes (the volume of the solution depends on the nebulizer type.) and nasal irrigation, rinse the nose with 100-300 ml 1-3 times a day.
You should preferably use Emser Salz® together with the Emser nasal shower, as the bag and filling volume are coordinated. Please use distilled water for inhalation and lukewarm drinking water quality for nasal rinses. The latter may need to be boiled beforehand (e.g. after operations on the nose). Please note further information in the package insert.
Intake
Ems salt must be dissolved in water before use.As a rule, 1 bag of Emser salt should be dissolved in 250 ml of water.Solutions can only be inhaled using suitable nebulizers.Compressed air and ultrasonic inhalation devices are suitable.Steam generators are not suitable.Any device can be used to rinse the nose. The use of a nasal shower is recommended. To rinse the nose, the solution should be warmed to body temperature.
Patient information
When used as directed, the medicine can be used for an unlimited period of time.
Pregnancy
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take medication after consulting your doctor or pharmacist!
Notes
Emser Salz® solution must be freshly prepared before each use and used immediately.Nasal rinses have also proven effective for frequent runny noses, people prone to colds, dry noses and hard bark, heavy dust and dirt, pollen for allergy sufferers and people prone to snoring.
Other
When producing a ready-to-use solution, the quality of the water to be used must be taken into account: When nebulizing using an atomizer, the use of distilled water is recommended, as otherwise the nozzles of the devices could become clogged.Otherwise, tap water (preferably boiled) can generally be used.Sterile solutions should be used for nasal irrigation in the first 3 days after surgical procedures. For this purpose, the solutions should be prepared with sterile distilled water. The fluoride content must be taken into account when preventing tooth decay.
No prescription is required for this product.
